Phillip was a giant of the local community, hugely passionate about Cheadle and willing to argue the case with anyone, and get stuck in to doing work on the ground. If he wasn't making the case for the village centre, he would be litter picking on his beloved Cheadle Green. It was an honour and a pleasure to work with him over my years as a councillor. He was always proud of his family too, often telling me of a new success or achievement. I'm so sad we have lost him - Cheadle won't be the same.

Phillip was a member of our family for 60 years, a man of principles and one of determination, sadly you fought your battle with dignity Phillip, but finally the battle was lost, Your family were your world, a perfect husband and father, he cared about his little dog Archie, he loved all animals, he cared for his environment hence being honoured with an MBE for everything he did for his Community, he will be so sadly missed You will stay in our hearts Forever Phillip, never forgotten, RIP 🥀 Sister in Law Carol and Brother in Law and Family xxxx
